Elementary

Claire Simon's new film, a small miracle about the act of educating, takes us to a public primary school on the outskirts of Paris. Between recess and classrooms, we observe the daily interactions between teachers and students, their small dramas and triumphs. As L’Obs noted at its French premiere, the film is a fun, positive, and lucid tribute, more indispensable than ever, to teachers and to a public education system that the underfunding of the French education system is calling into question.
